I'm assuming that your headache is from stress, muscle tension or dehydration. Did you take any anti-inflammatory medicines (Advil, Aleve, Motrin) or drink any water. A key to endurance exercise is to drink water constantly before and after exercising. And during , if the run lasts longer than 60 minutes. If it's from lifting weights, you probably held your breath and pushed too hard, causing small capillaries to break, resulting in your headache. Same prescription: ibuprofen and water, plus rest. If the headache does not go away after 24 hours you need to see a doctor.

I get them a lot and I take paracetomol now as a preventative measure.
I thought it colud be the muscles in my neck jarring during my sport (netball), as I drink lots of water etc, but I also get it on long walks (hikes) among other things.
When I do get them I spend the entire night feeling very nauseous and my head trying to explode (like a migrane), although it occasionally still happens.
I don't know if thats your problem, maybe an osteopath may help with the muscles etc (as I found that helped me too).
Maybe you should get it checked out.

If you are usually healthy and fit then it should never happen unless you push yourself too hard.

Thats never a good thing to do.
