I mostly get quotes from the bible that the contributer does not understand......or ,if the question is too difficult to answer,it is just completely ignored or I get comments that do not even try to answer the question.......It's so frustrating when I'm genuinally interested in what people of different religions really think.

I don't know if I'm a believer or not......I haven't made my mind up yet;the spitefulness and nastiness of a hell of a lot of true 'believers' on here is not helping me.

just answer with a simple 'yes' or 'no' with a succinct and easily understood reason for your answer from your hearts would be great....

'are we using our brains today'.....I most certainly am NOT asking questions like Mary 1st or factory farmed food etc for the amuesment factor it would give me....I'm absolutely interested in what makes people think they are good Christians/Catholics/Muslims etc.....I'm absolutely intersted in the teachings of the old and new testament and how people lead their lives accordingly....I'm interested in why people work on the Sabbath and still call themselves Christian...I'm interested in how suicide bombers can say they are going to be martyrs when killing oneself is against Islamic teachings.....i'm interested in all the serious contradictions that seem to occur between people of the same faith........

So not one of you who have faith who answered this question has bothered answering my other questions....or maybe have not even bothered to read them.......although I'm hugely disappointed in you, I not in the least bit surprised as they are questions that would perhaps make you have to think about your everyday life instead of spouting the old excuse of Jesus dying for our sins so everything is ok,we can't help but do things that God hates time and time again.

You do not know what you are asking and yet you have limited knowledge to understand the bible.

Sometimes people just dont know much about their religion but still believe with conviction so they just pass uninformed comments hoping it will sound convincing. Sometimes they just nasty and insult the other users cos thats just the way they are. Also this section is a highly opiniated section where everyone has something different to say and there really isnt a right, wrong or straighforward answer to many of the questions.

I am a person of a 'different' religion.
It is my belief that you are unsatisfied because you 'set the bar' too high.
An opinion, an explanation, perhaps no less satisfactory.
If you want a dog to do something, you have to think 'what is the dog thinking when I ask it to do this thing?'.
Then, thinking like the dog would, you can ask the dog to do that thing.
If you want a person in R&S to give you a satisfactory answer, you have to think 'what would I say to this person, that they would give me a satisfactory answer?'.
Then, thinking like that person, or people, you can ask them to do that thing.
Think like your audience, present the question To them, not At them.
Half the power of a question is what it asks, the other is how it is interpreted.
Write 'to' your audience, and they will acclaim you a great author.

Part of the problem I think is that Christians try to answer everything that is asked about God and the fact is we cannot answer everything,God is great mystery and even the Angels cannot fathom the depth of God,we must only answer those questions that are possible and not conjecture or make wild guesses.

You get NO ANSWERS from someone who does not understand the Word of God, and mans knowledge is NOT Gods Knowledge. You will never get your questions answered from someone who does not know what God has said about something, and they also have to do more than quotes as YOU have said. I agree with you 100% that if someone is Spiritually Ignorant they will always use quotes and comments they have heard from somewhere else, by someone else, and not even understand what they are TRYING to say. I USE the Word of God for ALL my answers and have studied Gods Word for years and years. I am NO SCHOLAR by no means, BUT I DO have Common Sense. The Word of God will explain itself as you read it, and if someone takes one verse and use that to try to give an answer, they are only fooling them self as one HAS to go to the Subject of what is being asked and pick that up.

The path to God, in my opinion, is a personal journey. Religous texts and religious congregations are meant to help you on your spiritual journey, to be a roadmap so to speak. No man who walks this earth can truly speak for God, you must look within yourself, with prayer, to find the truth. I wouldn't be to concerned with the fact that no one gives you satisfactory answers here, since the only true answers will come in your personal relationship with God. Faith is meant to be a daily struggle as there are no right or wrong answers. there is no "proof". That's why it's called "faith".
Best of luck in trying to understand it all. i know i don't, but by having faith, that fact doesn't upset me too much.

your frustration is your own people of faith can have just as much passion for there beliefs as you do or not and some take a harsher stance or dont try to over analyze every piece of trivial atheist garbage it isnt worth the time to type a answer anyway most times your just trying to get a reaction for your ammusement we are not all as stupid as you think we dont have to answer to any one but ourselves for our beliefs and you cant change our opinions just because your not satisfied with our opinions or what we base them on

Religion is not something like politics, where you have your own likings and dislikings. Obviously you are looking for an answer which you expect it to be answered the way you feel.
The answer to religious questions is one only, for you or me, since we are dealing with the subject of soul in religious matters.
That is the reason I say that a saint is needed to give us the correct reply.

The question you're in seek of for is " what share licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll middle of a tootsie roll pop" this question is previous the scope of the two faith and technological know-how.

To me, religion is highly discerning. God bless you that you are open-minded, but it's sometimes really difficult to answer a religous question. It depends on the one who answers your question. By the way, I like your question. Hope this helps!
