If you are having a fever or having thick colored mucus from your nose, that means you have an infection. If so, you will need antibiotics to get over it. It's more than a cold. Also if you are coughing a lot, it can be upper respiratory infection. That also requires antibiotics.

Are you sure it is just a cold? any fever, productive cough, or that run-down feeling. If is just a common cold just treat your symptoms, like runny nose, congestion, sneezing, unproductive cough,or productive if it is yellow or green see your DR. also fever at night. If not let it run its course because it is probably viral. they do have things on the market to take so you fight off cold , or the first onset of one. Airborne is one popular product and also Zicam swabs that you put in your nose to fight virus. they also now have medications by prescription such as Tami-flu and a few more. If your throat get sore or you feel the congestion in your chest or an earache, See Dr. it may be bacterial HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER

nine days is a long time for a cold, you might want to see a doc just to make sure it isn't something else more serious
But on the other hand it also depends on how much the cold is actually bothering you if its a few little sniffles and coughs you might just go on with your life and let it pass
hope you feel better soon

While there is no cure for the common cold, I would recommend going ahead and seeing the dr to make sure that nothing more serious like pneumonia could be going on.
I know it's a hassle to go see the dr but my rule of thumb is to go ahead and get it checked out to be on the safe side to make sure that there is nothing serious going on.

U should get it checked out, normal colds dont last that long, unless its triggered by something else, not meaning to scare u, but its a good idea just to make sure.

Antibiotics will do nothing for a cold. It will clear up in time, but your doctor won't be able to do anything for you. Just keep hydrated, and get plenty of rest.

Someone hurt you so you want to use a magic bullet on them. Shame on you. This cold may be your punishment for wishing that :-)
