Roberto Bennati has called upon Pope Benedict XVI to stop wearing fur-trimmed hats and fur-trimmed capes. Do you think if the Pope stopped wearing fur, he could show " a praiseworthy example of Christian charity?"

Shibboleth, where in my question do I deny "the vast charity work..." ?? I detect a note of hostility here - is there something more than "inspiration that is fueling your life"?

i think he shouldn't be treated so high and mighty when people that follow his religion are starving.. yeah, maybe he SHOULD give up wearing the dead animals.. it'd probably be beneficial to the animals as well..

I've always said when a big natural disaster happens, and money is pouring in from all countries, why doesn't the Vatican chip in a few mill? They can afford it. Arn't christians supposed to be humanitarians too? Does saying a public prayer on tv, put any food in the Tsunami victims mouth, or clothes on thier back? How many stolen and hoarded treasures do they have? Lots of things were stolen during the war years. Jesus had nowhere to lay his head - they have quarters guilded in gold. What a joke!
****-a-doodle-doo the rooster crowed.

Popes have been doing something right since Catholics are the largest Christian group by far. It was always part of their marketing and it works. The whole principal of the catholic church is her authority (uniforms have an effect on people). So if you remove all those things the church goes down and many, many people would be left with nothing (remember that not all Christians are into interpreting their own scripture and such, some people simply need such guidance.)

It wouldn't make one bit of difference.People like Bennati are nothing more than sensationalizing fools. I think a betterexample of christain charity would be for some of thoseteleevangelist preachers to send food and medical supplies to thesub sahara area and Iraq and Afghanistan. Now THAT would be christian charity.

No he shouldn't.
I hope he laughs at Roberto Bennati and reminds him that animals have no God given rights. But I doubt he will be so bold as to tell the truth. He will do as the Catholics always have done and do something so more people will join the church.

It would be so nice to see the pope give some charity.
He is so full of words.
Actually, so unmeaningful, in this day and age.
Sorry, all hypocrites to me.
Look at his life.
Is he suffering?
Not at the least.

I do not know that would be a sign of charity but maybe respect for the animals.

I think you should pull your head out of your back end and acknowledge the vast charity work already underway at the behest of the Catholic Church.
