Hell No .....

the REAL WORLD away from school is full of deadlines and pressure ..

Exams are important because they often sort out the studious from the lazy ... and kids have to use their own resources THERE AND THEN and not borrow somebody else's essays or pay some smart kid to do their homework.

I do agree that SOME kids stress out BIG time over exams ( remembering a kid i went to school with who ended up with stomach ulcers over the stress of it all ) .. but the teachers generally realise which kids they are. and USUALLY these kids STILL do well in their exams.

the thing is as I started with .. in the REAL WORLD after school finishes .. people have to be able to deal with pressures and deadlines .. and learning how to deal with that during your time at school < BY having exams , IS a good thing ....

The only exam I really stressed about was mathematics because i absolutely hated Logarithms and Trig.. ( i think that stemmed from not seeing where i would use them when i left school... and 25 yrs later I still haven't had a need for them)

Examinations should NOT be banned ..

Nah. Exams are crucial to make sure the students are learning the material. How are instructors/teachers/professors supposed to tell if the material is getting across?

However, I think that teachers should also be evaluated on the exams they create. For example, some teachers include questions that are obviously not from the material or such a twisted version of it that it's unrecognizable. I believe students should have to think... but in a practical way. If you want to test their logic, be a Logic 101 teacher or something.

search for the research,, there is an outstanding variety of indication the universities now do not practice the three R's yet the thanks to be examined on them.talk about that at the same time as an examination can provide information about what a student has drawn from to finish the attempt, this does no longer element out what is going to be used contained in the destiny less than diverse situations, and why.the rigidity situation is an element, yet also an glaring and elementary element, it in basic terms isn't affective, examine up on I.Q research in recant years about the version between an I.Q score and someone's capacity to maintain information, 2 completely diverse issues. There are too many variables between human beings to make anybody variety of examination suited for all kinds of inexperienced persons.

no.

How would you measure the extent of student understanding without an assessment? How would teachers know how much of their instruction was successful and which students need extra help without exams?

No exams should not be banned at school
