I downloaded a couple of videos and I'd like to burn them in a CD. I tried a couple of times with the programs already on my computer with no luck, so I installed a try out version of this DVD burner program called 'Cheetah DVD burner' and once again when I tried watching the videos on my TV they wouldn't show, I tried on my computer too and the samething happend. Does anyone know how to be able to burn this videos in a CD? Do I have to convert them in some other format or something? Please help...

you can tey VCD like the person stated but if video file is greater than 700 you got to put it on a dvd. But you need a special program and this special program is called dvdsanta.

www.dvdsanta.com

the reason i say you need a special program is because the file you burn with nero lets say to dvd wont play. Because it will burn it as a file. But dvdsanta takes care of that for you :)

Try to use AVS Video Converter from AVS Video Tools http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/avs-video-tools.htm

You should burn to VCD\SVCD
Press to DVD and choose the option you need.

You also may try to reduce DVD size to CD by converting
your DVDs to DivX or XviD or WMV. After conversion a standard movies will be about 700 mb (CD-R size) instead of 5 or 9 GB (Video DVD sizes).

It supports lot's of video formats: *.avi, *.divx, *.xvid, *.ifo, *.vob, *.vro, *.mp4, *.m4v, *.h263, *.h264, *.mpeg, *.mpg, *.m1v, *.m2v, *.dat, *.mpe, *.3gp, *.3g2, *.3gpp, *.3gp2, *.wmv, *.wmv-hd, *.asf, *.mov, *.qt, *.rm, *.rmvb, *.swf, *.dvr-ms, *.dv, *.dif, *.flv, *.mkv, *.ogm.

Also AVS Video Converter has integrated DVD/VCD burning engine.

The program is very simple. Read the step by step guide here: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/avs/video-DVD-to-AVI-DivX-XviD-WMV-MOV-RM-video.htm

What Adil and Neo said works just fine.

Keep in mind though that not all DVD players accept home-toasted-disks.
