Jesus wasn't around when Lot's wife was turned into salt.....That part of mythology came later.

Lot's wife made her choice. She knew the consequences of her actions before she committed it.

She just couldn't bring herself to completely turn away from the old world, just as many Christians can't today, and they also know the consequences, but chose to ignore them.
