passover biblically speaking was when the Jews were being held captive by Egypt one of the plagues or punishments God layed on the people was the killing of all first born. to protect them the people had to cover their doorway sides and tops with blood. thus allowing the angel of death to pass over the house and not kill the first born hence the name passover. this is a cliffs notes version

Do you know the story about the Hebrews (Jews) being enslaved in Egypt, and when Moses (if he ever really lived) was trying to make the Pharoah let his people go. The Pharoah refused several times and then god, I don't know which god, just a god that christians think exists, is claimed to have caused many bad things to happen, and Moses told the Hebrews to mark their houses with sheep's blood and the death that god was sending would passover them. That is what passover is about. Rather silly isn't it.

Well, there is the Passover 'Feast' or perhaps more properly 'Set Time.'

And Jesus is our Passover, that is He provided the sacrifice that we may escape God's wrath.

I suppose either one of those would be called the "Real" Passover, depending on which you were implying.

When the Pharoh ordered the first born of every Jewish Family in Egypt to be killed, and God told Moses to ensure that the blood of lambs was smeared on every Jewish house door so that the Angel of death would pass over their house, and only visit the homes of the egyptians.
