It is not. To promote the illusion of safety, Air lines have taken that privilege away. You will have to check it. Personally, I use a knife often for many duties, mostly for lending to people who say things like " you don't need a knife" then an hour later ask to borrow mine because their knees jerk and their lips flap to some politically correct robotic beat. Since they are not prepared to fend for themselves without "Big Brother" supervision, they have given up their rights to free thought and action. But I digress. I usually just have carry on luggage, and travel often, so usually buy a Swiss army knife when I get to my destination. Places I fly to often, I have a place where I bury a few things I now can't take on board.

No do no longer attempt it. I had a pocket knife in my bags and it held the line up for extra or less 30 Min's. exceptionally much ignored my flight. as quickly as they dug it out of my suitcase they went forward and positioned it back in it yet warned me that I extra valuable no longer take it out. Lot of junk to bypass via for no longer something.

Knives with blades more than 3 inches long are confiscated by the TSA. Anything less than 3 inches may be allowed depending on the TSA agent that searches you and your carry-on bags.

I would recommend just checking them through your luggage and not carrying them with you.

I suggest you check it.

You know you can not take a knife on board. Have you been to an airport lately? They have the big plastic see thru boxes on confiscated stuff. If it is metal and sharp, or it can cause fire, check it in your luggage. Otherwise you are just throwing it away.

NO ! AND WHY DO YOU WANT TO ? HOW ABOUT PACKING IT WITH YOUR LUGGAGE, YOU ARE TRAVELING, NOT GOING CAMPING.WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL NEED IT FOR ? OPENING THE DOOR, CATCHING A BIRD, CUTTING IT AND THEN COOKING IT? I KNOW AIRLINES DON'T SERVE FOOD ON MANY FLIGHTS , A SNACK BOUGHT AT THE AIRPORT WILL DO QUITE WELL !!!

Probably depends on the size ( big difference between a six inch blade and a 1 inch). Check the regs.
