Me too!
Sugar is a simple carbohydrate, it gets into your blood stream and sends your glucose sky high, then falls way low. This up and down spike cause us to want more sugar, because our blood sugar is down low again. By choosing complex carbohydrates, we can better control our desire for sugar.
One website I found about this is glycemicindex.com. There are many now -this is not a fad diet. It's based on how foods affect our blood sugar. Two foods in the index that are very good for you are pumpernickle bread and almost any nuts, including peanut butter. Choose foods with the lowest numbers on the index and you will have gone a long way to helping yourself resist sugar. Good luck and happy eating.

Im a sugar freak too. Well...I love the energy boost but besides that, I just love eating it because of the way it tastes. In any form. I havent had it in a while now and the way I did it was...

I take coffee for the boost and east sugar free chocolate, candy, etc for the taste.

Weight watchers has some candy and stuff that suger free too.

Works for me. Try it.

Try snacking on sugar free candies to curb the cravings. Then maybe you can find other substitutions that you prefer and eventually pull a good majority of your sugar intake out of your life. Good luck - sugar is a stinky addiction.

stay away from artificial sweetners i believe they are worse for you than the sugar-unless you are diabetic. i use honey in my tea instead of sugar. also licorice root powder is a great sweetner. instead od going for a sugar hit grab a bit of fruit. watermelon is wonderfully sweet and good for you too!! most fruit is a great sweet treat!! sugar is like any addiction the biggest hurdle to get over is the one where you decide that you REALLY dont want it any more then it becomes easier!!

Supplement your diet with Chromium Picolonate. It helps you curb your sugar cravings because it helps your body process your sugars.
