Anybody can be religious. There are hundreds of religions that will accept anybody. A practicing Homosexuals is not truely saved. Homosexuality is an immoral sin just like adultry, murder, lust, drunkeness, theivery, idolitry, etc... So you must turn away from homosexuality in order to be right with God. Repent is the word! If you say you are a Christian and yet you are still a homosexual you have not repented. If a person was a murder and decided he wanted to be a christian should he continue to murder? Absolutely not. It is the same with homosexuality.

Yes, a gay person can be religious. A gay person can also be Christian, despite what many Christians like to believe. They judge gay people and call it sinning and say because of that sin they cannot be Christians. If these Christian gay-bashers were true to their faith then why are they judging, first of all, and second of all, what makes being gay any worse of a sin (if it even was one) than any other sin....which...yes...Christians do commit. They are being hypocrites.

Yes
How one feels about God is not defined by one sexual orientation. Whether one acts on their urges defines should also be defined by their belief in God.
Homosexuality is not the only non-heterosexual orientation. There are several, including pedosexuals. Clearly it is possible to control such urges, as is expected of pedosexuals, as well as those attracted to the dead and animals.
And just as is the case with heterosexuals, one has to chose whether they are going to allow their urges to control them or are they in control? A heterosexual who is sleeping around with different women, committing adultery, or involving themselves in pornography, are not less committing a sin than a homosexual.
In the final sense, do you give up your life to God and Christ or to your urges? Is the fulfillment of your happiness now more important than everlasting life later?
In the final sense, after Armageddon, genetic abnormalities will be corrected.
Saying that God meant for a person to be what they were born to be doesn't say much for those with significant genetic abnormalities, like missing limbs, or pedosexuals.

Better question is why would they want to be. Sure religious in the sense Einstien was - wonder at nature and evolution etc. But religious in the sense they would read the bible and see god wants death to homosexuals, that's as silly as women being religious, when the bible is written by patriarchal monsters telling women to keep their mouths shut.
I don't think a thinking homosexual or feminist could be a christian. Well not if they read the bible.

As a homosexual person, yes. Sadly many homosexuals consider themselves to be Christian even. I don't why they would want to but that is their choice. I, however, can't imagine why anyone would think that sexual orientation would have any bearing on whether or not you could be religious.

I would read "The Good News About Sex and Marriage," by Christopher West. We must always respect homosexuals as people and never bring hate upon them. We should support them in helping them overcome their cross but homosexual acts are disordered and gay marriage should not be allowed.
Here is what the Catechism says:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Yes, and you know why? It's one thing to be religious. It's another thing to be a Christian.

Of course, and in a variety of religions. About the only religion I can think of that would be really problematic would be Islam, and there are cultural allowances for that, too.
