It depends whether or not the dr was aware that u were pregnant at the time.
legally and ethically he should have checked with you and told you the category c status
and the pharmacist, if noted that you were pregnant, should have checked, but mostly it was the drs responsibility AND YOUR OWN to check that it was alright.

consult your ob/gyn or pharmacist for possible side effects. Category C medications are medications that there is not enough research on to reach a conclusion about its effects...
obviously your dr thought that it was safe enough....

i would wait until the baby is born to see if there are any problems- if there is no problem with the baby you will almost certainally lose and have to pay all legal expenses.
if you bring the case now the court/lawyer will poroably advise you to wait for the baby to be born or to run extensive tests on the baby.

If you unborn child was affected by this medication...I would definately check with an attorney about your legal rights. It was very careless for your Dr. to prescribe any medication that is labeled Category C!!
Please see your ob/gyn and discuss the effects this could have on you or your unborn child!

Category C medication? Might want to expand on that a little bit.

In any event, if you take a medicine that is known to be harmful to a fetus and your physician says it's okay, and your baby is affected, you *may* be able to seek legal remedies...however, you would have to make SURE you had every stone unturned...otherwise, it's your words against his/hers.

You can sue for pretty much everything nowadays, so something as serious as that I'd have thought without a doubt.
