tonight my right eye was itching so I started rubbing it and it got all red. Now I'm trying to get rid of it. Instead of Visine, what should I use?

Rinse with cold water and keep a cool rag placed over them. It's likely allergies, and in that case you're probably shoving more allergens in your eye when rubbing them. You should see a doctor tomorrow & get checked for pink-eye if it persists.

You can use artificial tears for now. But if it's still red in the morning, make an appointment with your optometrist. Don't see you regular family physician, because I have seen many instances where a family doctor misdiagnosed an eye problem and have made it worse. They do not have the equipment to magnify the areas of your eye so that they can be seen clearly and properly. A red eye can be caused by numerous things. So there's no one solution till you see an eye doctor.

Visine makes four different drops now. One of them is to get the red out, and they work. Good luck with that.

There are special eye drops you can get just for red eye. Other then that, rinse them out with cold water and don't touch them anymore! If it's worse in the morning, get checked for pink eye, which is HIGHLY contagious.
