Okay people . This morning I woke up with urine on my bed. Thinking it was my dog who did it because it done it two times way long ago. The funny thing was the urine had a BAD smell this time...Just a few minutes ago, I walked in and saw my cat shaking his paws like he got wet. So I saw some wetness on the pillows and I smelled it and it was urine...bad odor..just to let you know...and I knew it was the cat all along..

Now the thing is, my cat [male] never peed on anything besides the cat litter box and no there isn't no new pets, nothing...Could it be that the cat litter was dirty and it was time to change it [cat litter was put 2 weeks ago]? or... what?

HELP ME!!! & right now i dont got the money to have him for a check up from the Vet...

To me there are three possibilities.
1/ Is your tomcat fixed? If not he could be spraying to mark his territory? (That does smell really BAD). Solution:- If your not planning to breed from him, get him neutered.
2/ If the litter was too dirty, a cat won't use it, and if your cat is stuck inside he will go somewhere else. Solution:- change litter and keep it clean.
3/ If it is an older cat, and/or he's not desexed, and/or he eats mostly dried cat food, there is a possibility that he has a condition that effects his bladder. This will make his urine smell strong, and he may get to the stage where he just goes everywhere because of the problem. Solution: - If it is this he will have to see a vet, or you could loose him.

That's all I can think of, hope that's a help.

The problem I have with this "urinating on the bed", is that if your cat didn't like the fact that the litter was dirty, then he would probably find a nice corner to go in. The fact that he ended up with urine on his paws indicates that there is probably some sort of problem. Cats don't like to have their own urine on themselves and it sounds like he was taken by surprise by the incident, himself. He definitely needs to go to the vet, because as others have said, he may very well have a bladder infection, which can cause the animal to loose control of their bladder, or not entirely know when they need to go, until it is too late to make it to the box. Sometimes they even avoid the box, because they associate it with the pain they are feeling. If you ignore this, it will just get worse. He may even be in pain. Another possibility is whether he may be having any sort of seizures. Has he been acting strangely, in any other way? Has he seemed to loose his balance, begun to shake at any time, or looked confused? Any of these would also indicate a trip to the vet. Many animals get urinary tract infections, and the vet is the option that will take care of it for both you and the kitty.

I had the same issue. I have 2 fixed cats. For the past 3 years I didn't have a problem. Recently that changed, 2 separate reasons. First time I had switched to Pine Litter. I liked the litter for the fact it was lighter, cheap, and smelt much better. One of my cats however was not as fond of it. Second time I thought my hubby had changed the cat litter and apparently he thought I had. So, yes dirty litter will cause a cat to not use the box. Would you want to step on all of that mess? Yuck. I also have had a couple issues with my female cat going in the corner of the dining room. She has only done this while I am in the process of changing the litter. I will hear her scratching and go to get onto her. I find her trying scratch the carpet to cover up poop. Not fun to clean up. If he peed on your brother he may have a health issue. I have never had an issue with my cats peeing on anyone. Hope all turns out well.

Unfortunately a vet visit really is a necessary thing when a cat, especially a male cat, is peeing outside the box. Male cats especially are at risk for developing life-threatening urinary blockages, and peeing outside the litterbox is the first sign of discomfort. They can also develop urinary tract infections, which can make the urine smell worse than normal. Infections can be treated with antibiotics if they are caught early enough. Waiting to get treatment often results in much higher vet bills as more serious problems can result. The humane society website listed below has tips on what to do if you can't afford vet bills.

That said, if you are not scooping the litterbox regularly (assuming you are using scoopable litter), that could definitely cause the cat to find a cleaner place to pee.

Peeing on your brother is a bad sign, and most people aren't commenting on it. To me, that indicates that your cat has an infection of some sort and/or a medical condition that is stressing him out. You should take him to the ASPCA for a low cost check-up...

I won't particularly comment on the bed peeing, b/c of the thing with your brother, which really precludes this being normal "marking" behavior, neutered or not (maybe unless you mean he peed on your brother's leg like he was a piece of furniture.

Something else to consider, although it still doesn't explain peeing on your brother, is whether your cat might be triggered by a certain smell. Synthetic materials like plastics "off-gas" molecules that have a faint odor. It is not unheard of for an individual cat to have a negative or positive response to the odor this creates. If you have a waterproof mattress protector, or new foam rubber pad on your bed, or even new polyester/foam pillows, they might be attracting your cat to pee. I have a cat who licks plastic bags, another that peed only on them before she was spayed, and a third that was so obssessed with peeing on my vinyl beanbag as a kid that we put it into storage (when we took it out 10 yrs later, he hopped right back on and peed on it like nothing had changed). Accordingly, I would keep him locked out of your room, and see if he pees in other areas of the house--this will give you a better idea of whether or not it is a behavior most specific to something on your bed.

I have a male cat that isn't fixed and he has never pissed anywhere but in his litter or outside. I brought a new dog into the house and he never even batted an eye. I think that as soon as possible you should take him to the vet, especially if he went on your brother. Something is wrong.

I would defiantly say dirty litter. Have you cleaned out the clumps in the last 2 weeks?? I clean out the poop daily in mine...would you want to go in a filthy bathroom? ALSO...it may be that he is not feeling well. Pets can try and tell us things. Maybe urinary tract infection, etc. Clean the litter, wash your sheets, and make an appt with the vet if it continues.

well when your cat pees on your bed or anywhere he isn't suposed to go pick him/her up push her head down let her smell it then say bad with a stern voice and and gently tap her bottom and show him/her that you are very angry

but does your cat have a litter box or something it could go to the bathroom in
you can also try to bring his litter box closer to where he likes to pee for example: don't put the litter box like on your bed but maybe next to it or something so that he can get used to his litter box
Maybe he doesn't like to use the liter box so you could try to put him outside every once in a while

he needs to be neutered now....and mix some ammonia and a little water and put it in a spray bottle and spray the area that he peed on...he will think that a bigger cat is around and won't mark his territory anymore. oh and make sure the cat box stays clean...cats are very picky about that otherwise he may start to poop in your tub

this could be a tough one, okay. by fact which you're seeing the vet tremendously in many cases, besides, why do no longer you supply them a call and see in the event that they have any perception. that's probable what i could do. My wager is that she has yet yet another UTI. i comprehend that one in each and every of my cats on no account had a litterbox difficulty (he develop into 10 on the time) until eventually he developed a UTI...then without notice he develop into peeing everywhere. So i think of she could have yet another one. i do no longer think of you're recommend like numerous different guy or woman is asserting. in my opinion, i think of you have dealt with lots. I ought to be basic and say, I probable could have theory-approximately putting her to sleep by now, truly as her continual Renal Failure is probable what is going to at last get her. She won't in any respect be a 'properly cat'. in case you save her, per risk there is a thank you to limit her to a minimum of one element of the domicile (in case you reside in a house?) I had a buddy with many cats, and a few of them had to tremendously lots stay in one room by fact the different cats have been so harassing. perchance in the comparable way, she ought to survive a screened-in porch, or a room that has vinyl flooring? returned, I ought to be basic...i could evaluate putting her to sleep, in spite of her early age. She isn't a properly kitty. superb of luck however you p.c.!
