No, definitely not. The Bible itself says that divine revelation is also transmitted through apostolic tradition. In fact, the Bible came from Apostolic Tradition before it was put into writing. (See 1 Corinthians 11,2; 2 Thessalonians 15,36; 2 Timothy 1,13; 2,2,14)
Divine revelation did not stop after the Bible was published. It continues to this day, through the teaching authority of the Church.

Authority comes from God and he gave us all instruction through the Bible.
It's like human government, they have authority and all laws of a country are found in books.

The Bible is most definitely the authority for all of us. No other book is capable of telling us to live our lives. It is God's Word given to man by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is profitable to mankind for all of our instruction and correction on our way to righteous living (2 Timothy 3). It rules out our experience (1 Peter) and our pre-conceived notions and makes us totally dependent upon someone other than ourselves. It doesn't matter what I think or what you think on any given subject, but only what does the Word of God say about the subject.

most ppl would say yes but if you read the bible Jesus tells you to obey those who have authority over you. in religion based on all the facts then yes the bible is authority on religion if you are a true believer. But in today's world most ppl don't believe so they let misguided temptations be the authority over them.

The authorized bible, the King James is the final authority and plumb line for truth. Without a standard for absolute truth all we have is our own reasoning which is fallen and easily deceived. God has fed Christians spiritual food from the King James for thousands of years.

Belief in any spiritual text is a choice. I know Christians believe it is the authority for them, the path by which they choose to lead there lives. Unfortunately, there are those, I would be willing to say the majority feel that it is/should be the authority for all. This is an unrealistic and detrimental approach to faith. Each person, by way of the constitution has Freedom of Religion. To say that all persons should follow biblical beliefs takes away that freedom. The bible even supports allowing others to believe as they choose.
No religious faith has infallible proof that their way is the only way. The only way for THEM yes, but the only way for EVERYBODY no. Religious beliefs have perpetuated and justified hate, murder and other inhumanities all in the name of a God for far too long.
Each person has the right to choose what belief structure, if any, is right for them. I respect each persons right to choose. I accept that each religious guidebook is filled with stories to teach moral, ethical and loving behavior towards their fellow man. It is only the fanatics that are present in any faith that will make one question that fact. While it would be silly to expect everyone to agree with an others faith, it is not silly or inconceivable to expect an "agree to disagree" attitude.
Until mankind of all belief structures can accept that religion is a freedom of choice and opinion of whats best for each individual we will continue to see hate, murder, war and other inhumanities towards each other.

The bible become the authority for those that stop growing in true spirituality. Biblical teachings distorts all that is true creation. For many the bible is pure truth which only serves to stop the search for obtaining that which is eternal truth.
So conned is man out of his true nature by the indoctrination of a belief system borrowed from so many sources that are bastardized in to one big distortion of historical facts.

Not the bible... But God. The bible is God's Word. I believe it because back when I didn't believe it, I asked myself, "how can I believe this book?" then I thought about it... the only way I could know for sure if it was true or not was to open it, read it, and obey it like it asks us to... then... after I obey it, I would find out if it's true because is is full of promises and cursings and if I obeyed it, all the promises that I am supose to recieve would come true... and If I didn't obey it, the curses would come true. So I brainwashed myself with the Word like it says to in this verse:
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
anyways... I found out that the bible was very true... but it isn't my authority.. God uses it as a teaching tool until the Holy Spirit abides in you. It's a very good authority for someone who does not yet have the Holy Spirit living in them... or if you cannot hear the voice of the Lord yet... then it's the best authority. It was mine for awhile... but after I received the Holy Spirit in me, He became my authority and I follow Him. You must first study the Word to show yourself aproved of God... Here are some verses to back up what I wrote here:
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
... so to finish up here, I believe it because the promises have come true in my life and I have been a believer now for 8 years. God is so good to me.

It's the authority on what's written in the bible, and on nothing else. It's one religious text among thousands.
