I need heaps of these bikes and I need to be able to get them from either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.

Actually, you can take any electric motor (permanent magnet) and drive it with pedal power, and you have a generator. That electricity will be an AC (alternating current). For DC uses, you'll need an appropriately sized full wave bridge rectifier and capacitors. Some environmentalists use this setup to charge car batteries to power things like TVs.
