Learn God's Word, follow God closely, teach your children to do the same, and most of all, be an example of following God, not just someone who tells them what they should do yet they watch you do something different.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

By applying Bible principles and teaching your children very early about God and what he requires and the type of person he is and by showing them that you truly love and appreciate everything that your heavenly Father has done for you, you will not only give them a firm spiritual foundation but you will be giving them the basis for a wonderfully successful life in following in Jesus' footsteps--since that is the only occupation which will have any lasting value for anyone, that would make you an absolute success.

That is a big question. Depends on many things. Are you married, how old are the kids, etc. The best way to be a good parent is by being a good example. Also if they are young you must set limits to their behavior and be consistent. There are parenting classes and books that can help you.

Listen to them. Don't judge them based off your own bias or opinion, if it is merely a matter of preference.
Let them enjoy what they will, and like what they like, so long as they don't endanger themselves. That includes religious preferences..
Do'nt 'raise them in a house of god' beucase, in all honesty, a child has no real idea of what god even is, I doubt even many adults know the true meaning of god, or any other religious deity.. So don't expect them to accept one for a number of years..
Open them up to all number of things- don't let their self-image go down the drain. Build up their self-confidence, and support them in everything they do.
Make sure they always have good clothes, food, and a good home, and please, the most impotant tihng ever- sho them love. Do'nt just say it, show it. Listen to them, show an active interest in them, be supportive, and don't physically abuse them.
Discipline them, first with warnings, then with something taken away, and if all else faisl, don't be afraid to spank them to drive the point home, but don't ever do **** my dad did to me- no child should ever have a split lip, or get thrown THROUGH the windsheild of a car..
Take it from someone who grew up in the wrong family, to know how a child should be raised right..
Make sure you're always financially secure, because a child can cause many unexpected costs, and you don't want to get them sometihng nice for their birthday, then hock it a week later in the pawnshop for ciggarettes..
Build up their trust in you, and other people, as well. Don't betray their trust in you, the worst thing you can do to a child is destroy theit trust in their parents..

Not sure that this is the best place to ask that question.
The main thing is let them know they're loved. Be as honest as you can be and as fair as you can be. Give them clear expectations and then follow through on what you say you're going to do, be it reward or punishment. Don't forget to let them know that you're human when you make a mistake. Remind them that they're human too, and to be forgiving of others. And the last thing is, again, let them know they are loved.
