Since the book of Genises, surely there have been other men and why don't we about their stories?

I think because they had nothing to show for there claims of being the messiah. There will be many more to come. Look at Jim Jones just a few years ago. He said he was Jesus. The Bible tells us to watch and be aware, so we are not deceived.

Too many especially in the time of Jesus. The Jews were looking for a Ruler King to free them from Roman rule. The King is coming again this time with a sword, and there will be NO MISTAKING WHO HE IS!

The Word of God says that 'there will be many who will come and say that they are the Christ.' Being that this was said before the Bible was written in order for it to be translated into the Bible, there has been some. We have not heard of them because only the Truth(Jesus) will stand. Many have, many will, in fulfillment of prophecy.
When Jesus Christ returns, He will have the prints of the nails in His hands and feet, and the spear wound in His side. Without those, any "Messiah" is a deceiver

sure! it used to happen like every year. That's why it was such a big deal that Jesus fulfilled all those prophecies...that's why it was such a big deal that he had those disciples.
