Would you be willing to give up your life as you know it and move to some remote part of the world to win them to Christ If God calls you there. Say God calls you to go to Brazil, in the Amazon Jungle, live among the natives and teach them about Him. Would you leave everything you know and go?
I dont want to see "God sometimes calls you to serve where you are" or anything like that. I will consider it a copout and give it a thumbs down. Please anawer the question posted.

I try very hard to follow God's plan for my life as he reveals it to me. I am also guilty of trying to get around things when they aren't convenient -- this is one thing that I struggle with. It would be hard for me to leave my family or to uproot them from our home and travel to a different, less fortunate part of the world.

However, what I would try to remember is that my home and family are a blessing from God -- he gave me those things because he loves me, and might require in the future that I sacrifice something to do his work. After all, my life is no longer about me, it is dedicated solely to glorifying God.

Yes, I would be willing to do it ... and I know that it would be difficult because Satan would certainly try to fight me. But with God nothing is impossible!

IF you are a christian it will cost you. God does not always care what you want or you cant pick and choose who to minister to that is Gods job. My husband and I were in a very poor ministry where we used to live and I begged God more times than I could count that we could leave God said Not. Deal with it the poor you will always have with you. I since moved along with my husband clear across the state and the ministry that I am in now it 10X tougher than the one in New York my point is you can choose who you are friends are but GOD chooses who you minister. We don't own a home and we don't have children so we are in MORE of a position to serve. In that light we will go wherever God calls us because we are commanded in scripture to go into the word and make disciples you cant do that always in a setting where things are comfortable and cozy all the time. I appreciate you posting this it is important as Christians that we know our priorities Matthew 6:33

I have sensed a leading to move to another country. Everything within me wants to go...AND is afraid of leaving the comfort of my home country.
I have spoken with numerous others who have made this transition to get their input on it, but I am deeply aware that right now...I am Jonah, in that I am not going where I have been sent.
I am talking about moving to Israel. I have felt the call to move there since the 80's. Even when I was there a few months ago, I was prophesied over by a stranger that I belong in Israel.
This is not an easy thing with which to comply.

While I wouldn't care to "go" to the example you have proposed, if it were God's will, and I KNEW it was God's will, I certainly would have second and third thoughts about disobeying His will!

Look at Jonah... God told Jonah to go to Ninevah, and he didn't want to go. In fact, he took a ship in the opposite direction and look what happened to him! God sent a "great fish" to swallow Jonah up and TAKE him to Ninevah, and spit him out there! Lord knows, I'm not interested in being swallowed by a fish, but there may be a price to pay if I don't do what He commands.

Then, again, God can change His mind about things, too. God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, PERIOD. But Abram "bargained" God down. God then agreed that if He found just 10 righteous people He would spare the towns. Unfortunately for those towns, He did not find even 10 righteous people.

If I felt called upon by God to do His work elsewhere, perhaps He would also give me the enthusiasm and motivation and desire that would be required to move me. It seems to me that He would. And if He did pour the desire on me to go it would be alot easier to answer that question. If in fact He said to me to drop everything and go whether I wanted to or not and He gave me no desire or motivation I don't know if I could do it.
If He called on me and I didn't go I would suffer a severe amount of guilt and shame.
That is a good question, though. Makes one think. It makes me wonder how many times He's called on me that I failed to respond.
If I was called upon I would really hope He could give me the desire to go away. Otherwise, to be completely honest I think I might chicken out.

Call this a cop out if you wish. God does not ask us to do something without also giving us the will and desire to do so. Since I don't feel the desire to go to some far off place to convert people, the answer is no. Because God has never called me to do that. However, He might be calling me to write and I don't really like writing all that much... but if we work together and I type and He dictates, it could work and I would do it. So to answer your question.. if I knew without a doubt that X was God's will, yes I would do it. I think that we can know when He is calling us to do something and when He is not. And also when He wants us to do something that is hard, but needs to be done. And I have done that before, and risked my life to do so. But he kept me safe.

If I were called by Him to do so, then yes, I would go. Otherwise He might send a big fish after me. But right now I feel it is His will for me to stay here where I am, and concentrate on raising my children to know Him. If I don't, who will? I have the highest respect for those who do go into foreign lands, among people whose ways are strange, and risk their lives for the word of Christ.

Hi there
I find this an interesting question because I have gone through many changes in my life over the past 3 years and my faith has grown exponentially because of these changes.
As a result I believe that I would go if I received the call. I am currently asking God (through my prayers) what my purpose is...what it is He has in store for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the ways He calls me....from the sound of your question perhaps you have had the same feeling?

Whatever the outcome, I am excited to carry on my journey here on earth and can't wait to see what God wants me to do next!
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

Heh, join the club. Having a cold isn't fun at all. I'll pray that you will find work. =) I don't really have any personal prayer requests at the moment. Maybe you could pray for my husbands' military unit. They're shipping out to Iraq later this year. God bless and feel better soon, =)

GREETINGS FROM MEXICO

Surely Yes!!!

We are sending missionaries making unusual efforts, because we lack enough funds.

Personally I went last week to the Oaxacan Sierra to share the gospel in a Zapotec village where we have a couple involved in church planting. This month I have plans to go to a medical mission in Guerrero state in one of the poorest areas.
