Ok the taillights don't work.. but does the turn signals work at all on the truck?
I'm asking as sometimes I've traced it down to a bad turn signal switch on the newer 92- today models... another thing is wiring and connectors.. I've found bad connections especially in the rear of those trucks at the bulb sockets on the older models and at the connectors underneath on 1987s and newer... especially ones with the aftermarket 4 pin trailer adapter inline.

Make sure you don't have any broken wires under the back of the pickup or that the wiring connection hasn't come undone. Check and make sure your taillight bulbs are good. Use a test light to see if you have power to the taillight sockets, and if you do then you have a bad connection on the ground side of the circuit.

there is a mini fuse not in the fuse box under the hood , but next to it ,there is another relay box with two minifuses on it
check it it is going to be one of them two. I know I own a ford truck too. and whenever you try to connect lights for your trailer . the fuse sometimes just blows . good luck

Install new fuses....Ill bet you have a bad one that looks good...ive had the same problem.....
If you try another new fuse and it doesnt work try a wire tester and find out where the power stops

I hate to ask but are the bulbs good? They are dual filament and both sides of the bright element could be burned out.
Either that or you have a bad brake switch or a bad ground.
Take it to an auto repair shop and have them look at it.
