here in Albuquerque,New Mexico it sells for 2.29lb at Costco, 2.38lb at wal-mart and more expensive at smiths sometimes $3.99lb.

About 2.99 per pound for ground chuck here in beautiful downtown Winfield, Alabama!!!

Around here (Northern CA) in the supermarket where I shop, regular ground beef is $3.49 lb in the max pac, usually around 3 lbs. If you buy it in the smaller package, it's $3.99.

I think this is an outrageous price to pay for plain hamburger (80% lean), and it rarely goes on sale. Chef Casey is right. Just another example of the penalty we pay for living in CA.

Here in NY if u go 2 the supermarket u can get it 4 $2.50 a pound. In the meat market will cost u about $4.99 a pound.

At my Safeway in northern CA, the 70/30 goes for $9.99 for 5 pounds.

It depends on the grade with regular being the cheapest at about $1.99 up to extra lean at $3.99. This week was on sale for .99 for regular. BC Can

The store I typically go to has 3 grades of ground beef, The lowest grade starts @ around $ 3.80 a lb. unless its on sale.

Hamburger (30% fat) is usually about $1.99 lb. Ground chuck is about $2.29 lb. Ground round is about $2.59 lb. Ground sirloin is about $2.89 lb. As for the extra lean stuff (7% fat) I don't know. I think it's about $3.29 lb., but it's too dry for me, so I don't usually buy it!
