I'm the same way right now! I'm in law school, and nothing makes you miss your mom like being really sick. I'm in the 9th day of having a fever that requires I take aleve and tylenol and sometimes that still doesn't work, I also have a sore throat and have thrown up, cried and sweated through my sheets to cool of a fever. I went to the school clinic on Friday and they think I have tonsilitis, though they aren't positive I don't have mono...ugh. Antibiotic is not working which isn't a good sign. I'm sure your college has some sort of student health program, if they do, make an appointment for tommorrow. It's probably just the flu, but it might be something more serious and they should be able to properly diagnose you. Do you have any friends around that will be willing to take care of you? I've had a couple call and check in on me, along with calls from my mom and dad, which helped me feel better. My boyfriend was also nice enough to bring me gatorade, v8 juice, McDonalds and another box of medicine, that was a lifesaver. Do you have anyone who could drop of a get-well pack? I hope that you do and really hope that you feel better, I feel your pain! Good luck :)

Most people would tell you to stay in college. You obviously don't wanna hear that. I'll tell you what I did. I quit school. If you don't have a degree you're not going to get the best job(unless you work really hard of course). I worked very hard and started making really good money. I started my own business by myself, and even worked part time on the side for someone. I traveled to many places, gained experiences, and learned things that just can't be taught in school. At the age of 22 years old though, I decided that I was gonna head back to college. I want something to fall back on later in life, where I don't have to work so hard. I just think about the benefits later. Just an average of 4-6 years of extra school to put in, and yet a lifetime of reaping the benefits. I'm 23 now, in school full time for dental hygiene, and still doing my business part time. If you don't wanna go to college that's fine. When you realize how hard you have to work to make a small buck you might change your mind. But no one's words are gonna help change your mind. Sometimes you gotta experience things to understand. I definitely did:)

Sounds like the flu..do you have a Dr. where you are going to school? If worse comes to worse, then go to the ER. You don't have to pay at the time of service, and when you do get your bill, you can always pay it out in installments. If I were you, I would go to a Dr. if your fever got any higher. You definitely need anitbiotics if it's a bacterial infection, but if it's the flu then unfortunately you just have to ride it out and treat the symptoms. Good luck!

See the college medical service, if none at your college, call your parents for their benefits. A temp of 103 is a "see-the-doctor-now" illness. Don't take anything you haven't taken before. Local emergency rooms will see you if you have no benefits, and will work with you on payments. The school usually has something for you, though. Get there.

Call you parents..#1. Tell them what is going on..and keep in touch with them.

#2, take some medication. Tylonol or Ibuprophen...you may even want to go to the pharmacy (perhaps get a friend to do it) and have them pick you up some Flu medication...like Nyquil. Make sure you don't overdose on Ibuprophen or Tylonol but mixing certain medications...know what you are taking.

#3, make sure that you have contacted the school's infermery. Tell them your condition, tell them that you are sicker than a dog..and you want someone to come to you, not you to them, to verify that you are sick, so you can get excused from class. (Hopefully they will comply). Stay in bed. Ask a friend to bring you soup from the cafeteria...you may be able to get the infermery to do this for you, as well. Take care of yourself. You will get better. It may take a week.

ER or clinic, whichever one is open and closer. do not fool with a high fever! it could be either the flu, or menengitis, which is fatal! go now, and don't come in contact with anyone else. i'm not kidding.

Get to the hospital as soon as possible. You may be dealing with something more serious than you know. Please do not try to drive your self.Call 911 or get a friend to drive you
