I think that they would be. They have short hair, a plus for keeping the place rather hair free...and they only get to be about 15-20 lbs or so. They do have a bit of energy when they are pups especially...so make sure he is able to get walks and provide with plenty of chew toys.

They are a good size for an apartment.

But as others have stated, they are typically energetic. You will want to make sure that you have time for a 30 minute walk with them once or twice a day beyond the usual potty breaks.

It may also be good to get to a dog park once a week or more often to help in socializing your dog. This will also help in burning off some energy.

Bostons can be barky. You will want to train your dog well. Obedience classes are great.

Also, a trainer can help you with ideas to keep your Boston happy while you are gone so they will get into less mischief.

We have a small Rat Terrier, and he is a good watch dog for the house....but he is a ball of energy, constantly wanting attention.
To keep your dog from biting you or other people,...DO NOT hold him up to your face and let him lick you. Also, they do not like to make eye contact with humans....it makes them nervous, and they will learn to bite.

Pretty much any kind of dog is ok for an apt, as long as you walk it at least 30 mins everyday. Even smaller dogs will get bored if not walked everyday and chew stuff up.

They are considered "athletic dogs" and do require exercise. As long as the owner walks it at least once a day and it has enough running room, it should be great. If not...pugs are WONDERFUL apartment dogs!
