One would have thought that he would have what it took to atleast compete. Bobby makes me think he should be driving a riding lawn mower or something.Do you feel he should look for a new ride next season or should he consider retiring?

I am a die-hard Bobby LaBonte fan. As much as I hate to say it, I'm thinking hes about done. I sure as heck am not giving up on him to win another race or ten, but I sure don't feel to strong about ever seeing him win another Cup race. He is or at least was a great driver. I really do think Petty Enterprises is behind in equipment. Joe Gibbs Racing is not. Look how good he done in his last couple seasons with Gibbs. He stunk. I sure do wish he would turn it around, and I thought maybe this was the season, and still could be, yet Bobby is still having allot of the same luck this season with getting in trouble in races, things that are not actually his fault. Maybe he is getting slower on his reflexes in his older age, or is it "white knuckles". I have been a Bobby LaBonte fan since 1993, when he drove the #44 Slim Jim to a win, as I watched, in Bristol.

In the 60's Petty Enterprises was top of the NASCAR mountain. But with each season the technology changed and smaller teams became larger and more advanced.Petty being a family business di not follow the technology move.
The 80's P.E. was a hit and miss luck team.A top 10 here or there and a win in the 90's things were looking up,until Adam's death.
The team went down the tubes and has yet to rebound.Bobby Labonte seemed like a natural fit,but the team was so far behind they can not catch up.
The contract with P.E. is close to over and there will be a good chance he will find another ride soon. But until he does maybe he can find some consistancy at Petty Enterprise.
That's all I have to say about that

Even though Petty cars have improved a lot in the past few years they still arnt very good. They have also had some pretty bad luck. Since Bobby is getting up there in age he doesnt really have time to wait for them finish rebuilding. He should try going somewhere else and finish with better equipment. He is still a pretty good driver and could easily run in the top 20 for a season with a good car.

Quite simply, he isnt on an A-team like he was at Joe Gibbs Racing, not to mention that some bad luck has gone his way.

If this was Petty Enterprises of 30 (or even 10) years ago, yeah, I would go more on the side of bad luck, or diminishing talent. I still think Bobby can win, he just needs to go to a better team.

What do you mean what up with Bobby? His lack of winning isn't due to his ANYTHING. I haven't seen him wrecking anyone. Petty Enterprises just isn't up to par with RCR, Hendrick or Rousch. I am just happy to see him still on the track, racing for the love of racing. I hope he sees another championship, but if not.....The LaBonte brothers were and always will be a class act. (I don't like Yeley in the #18--it will always be Bobby's car!)

Bobby is a very good driver. He should be considering his options in the future.

Petty Enterprises will never be good as long as Richard has some say so. He is too tight to spend the money to make this team decent.

Bobby Labonte is a talented driver. He just needs to find a team that he works well with.

I think Bobby is just sitting back & watching, learning, watching. It takes a while for a team to do it's job correctly & the way "everyone" wants it done. He's driving ok, he's just not up there. YET. Hey, look, he's not crashing as much or at all like he used to. Look what happened today.

2 words "Petty Enterprizes"
Bobby would still be a contender with a better race team. He should have never left Joe Gibbs Racing.

BOBBY WAS AT ONE OF THE TOP FIVE TEAMS SO FAR AS EQUIPMENT AND MANAGEMENT. HE NOW RESIDES WITH ONE OF THE MOST UNDER-ACHIEVING TEAMS OF THE PAST DECADE.
JOHN ANDRETTI IS A GOOD DRIVER, PUT HIM IN D.E.I. OR HENDRICK CARS AND HE WOULD BE A TOP 15 DRIVER. TAKE MICHAEL WALTRIP.....
I THINK FOR PETTY ENTERPRISES TO GET TO THE TOP KYLE NEEDS TO HANDLE SOLELY ADMIN AND PR, ATTRACT BETTER CREWS AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS.
SO, IF BOBBY WANTS TO DO BETTER, HE NEEDS PETTY TO CHANGE DRAMATICALLY OR FIND A NEW RIDE.
