No, because if I did I'd have to cross myself each time I passed a Christian, for the church is not a building, but the ones who have the Lord (well, one part of the triune, and those God) within their hearts. So the Lord's people are the church. That's be a lot of crossing.

When passing a Catholic or Orthodox church ... where the real presence of Jesus Christ is typically reserved ... yes.
As for the others, I respect them as houses of worship, but since they don't typically believe in "crossing" themselves while there, neither do I.

Pretty rare, even among those of us with a [non-mandatory] tradition of crossing themselves at certain times during a service [I am Episcopalian].

I think it's a catholic thing. I don't do it cuz it doesn't say anywhere in the bible that you should do this. I dunno. But i went to a catholic baptism recently and the priest made us do the cross thing like 4 times...and i didn't do it and i felt horribly awkward and wanted to hide but i felt stupid doing it because i knew i didn't believe it....okay i'm done venting.

I think that it is mostly a Catholic tradition...a sign of respect to God.

Never heard of it.
Would never do it.
Do you think Jesus would make the sign of the crucifix?

I don't.
I think it depends on your beliefs. I guess this is a Roman Catholic tradition.
