omg, failed jello?? well ya didn't say how ya made it.. makes a big difference how hot the water is in the beginning, then stir it long enough to dissolve all the crystals, then add cold water and stir real good again, then put in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

I have been making Jello for years and it sounds like you may have put a little bit more water in it than the recipe called for. The other thing is maybe you didn't let the Jello sit in the refrigerator long enough, and that is why it might still be soupy or not fully solid yet. One last thing, even though some people tend to put fruit in Jello,I never do,because Jello seems to set better when you don't add fruit to it! I hope that this has been helpful for you?

There are just a few likely reasons.

1) Too much water. Did you use icecubes?
2) Not enough time to set - It can take 8 hours or more.
3) Adding fruit. Fresh or frozen Pineapple, Papaya, Kiwi will all prevent gelatin from setting.
4) Too warm. Is your fridge broken?

Did you stir and stir until all crystals where gone from the bottom of container? What was your ratio of mix to water? Jello is pretty simple to make. I'm sure it was a slight oversight, try it again, it will work out.

A better question is why do you want to EAT jello? Do you know what that stuff is made of? They take skin, bones, etc of dead rotting animals and boil it with chemicals to extract the gelatin. Yuck.

Follow the directions ......put jello into glass bowl, add one cup Boiling hot water....stir...then once cup of Cold water.....stir again until crystals disolve* Put in fridge. Make sure your fridge isn't set at a low temperature. Leave it for a few hours.....voila* it's ready*~:)
you can put canned fruit into your jello and instead of one cup of cold water add the one cup of fruit juice from can...(peaches/pears/mandarins/pineapple....) and stir until crystals disolve*......leave in fridge for a few hours....even better*with the fruit*

Did all the crystal's disolve? Was the temperature of the water hot enough? Did you leave it in the fridge long enough? Don't feel bad...my brother can't make mac&cheese.

I am guessing either you added too much water or didn't leave it in the fridge long enough.
