My boyfriend and I got into a fight, during which he said that he wouldn't marry me if I didn't learn how to drive. (I'm a very bad driver.) I asked him which was more important to him- being with someone who can drive, or being with me- and he eventually said me, but it took way too long to get an answer. He just kept saying, "I'd rather have both."

We've been dating for more than two years and have seriously discussed marriage. I've rarely had a reason to doubt his love before, and we trust each other. What's going on?

He's not my "chauffeur around town." We live in different cities at the moment.

I can totally sympathize with you Kelsey. I responded to your boyfriends question. People just don't get it. They don't understand but really, you should try because you will find yourself in the same position I am in right now. I have two teenage daughters. I always have to depend on my MIL or husband to pick them up from school or take them to the doctors office etc. I feel like a big burden! And I know I am! I hate feeling this way! It's not fair to anyone! My MIL, Husband, kids or myself so please learn now! Your still VERY young!

Girl, did you ever give it some thought, he is probably tired of driving you around town. If your driving is so bad have you been in any accidents. If you have, this can affect your insurance rates. If he marries you, this can affect his insurance rates as well. Get some driving lessons.

I would be sitting your b/friend down and letting him know that really hurt you...why is it so important to him for you to drive, and if you don't ..he won't marry you?? That's what you need to find out* There's more to meet the eye than is being told. GoodLuck*

OMG are you so naive... He just wants you to be safe, you can be lucky that he cares so much for you... just try to be a better driver or even go to a driving school, maybe that will help you.

if this driving is such a issue. how is he going to handle more serious issues in marriage? y'all got some things to work out---maybe it is "control" issue for him? maybe it's a "I don't want you dictating to me" issue for you?
