I don't think it's supposed to mean we trust God, I think it means that in God (the body of Christ) we can trust each other, via the currency. It makes for good business, if two parties value the currency. The business of America, is business.

I agree with you there.But currency is made of traditions,kind and nationality of the country and people who use them.Vietnam for example,Their currency has hole in the money which you can easily see through.their currency is very different from US Dollars or Canadian Dollars!But the images of the currency is based on great places or places which the History represents or holds!

that would be regarded as a state sponsored religion, frankly I think they should completely avoid the possibility of being seen as endorsing any religion, take the "In god we trust" off currency and stay silent on the matter, people don't need the government in order to have a faith in a god

Because in the U.S. money is God. It would just sound greedy to put "in Money we trust" on all the currency.

That doesn't matter. Back in the other direction, the Bible says that Jesus told us to pay back Caesar's things to Caesar (that means money because the inscription of whoever issued it is on the back of the coin), but God's things to God.

It doesn't matter whether God is defined on the coin. The God of the Bible wants us to respect the monetary system of the countries we live in.

Why can't we trust in the moon, or the elements? At least we can measure and examine their influence on the world.

Even trusting in science would make more sense.
