Wrong!

It slows when you take in less than 1,400-1,500 calories (general rule).

Of course your (=real for your case) value will depend on:
1) how much you weight (the skinnier you are the lower it is)
2) how much body fat you have (the more you starve yourself the FATTER you become, the fatter you are the more it slows down)
3) your body type (if you are an endomorph you will have to eat less)
4) how much activity you perform (the more the activity the more your body will burn calories)
5) how much calcium you eat (less than 3 skim dairy servings won't give you enough calcium to melt the fat)
6) how much essential fats you eat (if they aren't enough you won't be able to lose fat)
7) how much water you drink (less than 1 gallon won't help you lose fat)

Try and be smart: try to lose FAT rather than weight and be just a skinny fat person.

Its some time hard to make your body perfect the way you want it. What is most important thing in this world is who you are inside. But at the same time you can be whoever you want to be. If you want to be fit, eat goodies, and train hard. Consult a professionals, not Yahoo.
