Yes you can do this, but outside earth will contain bacteria, fungal spores, dormant seeds, insects (and their eggs) etc. and you may find that the health of your plant may suffer.

Much better is to buy some multi purpose plant compost (e.g. Multigro) from a garden centre or nursery and use that. It will be MUCH richer in nutrients than ordinary garden soil and will also be sterile so it won't introduce any diseases into your plant pot which might affect you plant.

You can, but likely you will have little flying insects in a couple of weeks or so. And you never know what will attack your plant that was in the soil. I'd say it would be better to buy a bag of potting soil.

You can probably do this if you sterilize the soil by putting it in the microwave or the oven. Otherwise you may introduce unwanted organisms.
