DSM IV says that you must have 6 or more of the following symptoms for 6 months or more.
1. careless mistakes
2. difficulty paying attention during activities
3. doesnt appear to pay attention when spoken too
4. doesnt follow through with instructions
5. difficulty organizing activities
6. reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort
7. loses important stuff
8. easily distracted
9. forgetful

I paraphrased it of course but Im ADHD and I think you are ADD. Attention Deficit isnt all bad, I find that I am more spontaneous than other people and many intelligent ADD/ADHD diagnosees can hyperfocus when they really need to.

First of all, ADD is not fake at all. Some symptoms:
Losing things
Not organized.
Hard time sitting still for a long time.
Impulsive
Spends a lot of money
May have a drug prob.
Being late all the time.
Can't focus for too long on a book, or movie like most people can.
Blurting out and interupting conversations.

However, the good news is that people with ADD are often intelligent.

Possibly. But those symptoms alone do not mean ADD. There could be other factors going on in your life right now. There may be disruptions or stress at home, work, etc that are effecting you. You may have just broken up with a gf and that is a distraction.
Assess your social environment and determine what stressors you are facing right now.

Have you made a conscious effort to get more organized? I am a therapist who has seen several children get diagnosed with ADD. Frankly, I don't believe in ADD. Your symptoms sound like things that could lead to a diagnosis of ADD but they could also be indicative of the fact that you lead a chaotic life and need to settle down and regroup. Set aside specific times to do homework and other projects and stick to this schedule. Find a special place to keep things you teend to lose and then always keep them there. Get rid of, or confront, stressors in your life and figure out better ways of dealing with them. Maybe you are overscheduled?

ADD is fake.
It is just laziness.
Write down you dreams, your goals...what you want out of life.
Keep this list handy, and everytime you find yourself slacking, take that list out.
It really helps, I was in your shoes when I went back to college and keeping a list and updating it, really does wonders.
Good luck.

I think you are making yourself do that because you think you have ADD.. don't think that you have it, and it'll go away!
