In fairness to all, nobody -- including those now opposed to the war -- thought of it. It would have required orders of magnitude more troops.
And it would not have solved the enmity between the two branches of Islam inside the borders.

The border was massive and porous. Too many foreign fighters were leaking in from Pakistan and Iran.
You can only do so much with a handful of troops, a huge border, and setting up an invasion force.
However, they should've had drones patrolling the borders especially at the mountain passes so they could ID the infiltrators and send missiles over.

Most likely because "Bush" is the President and overall "Commander in Chief", which means he relies on the advice of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other military leaders. All you people who want to blame the President for everything act like he is a platoon leader on the ground over there. The Commander in Chief sets overall policy, not military strategy or daily operations.

Because Bush has no idea what it means to be commander and chief. It would have been better if we never went and over through Saddam's regime . Iraq wasn't bothering anybody. There never were weapons of mass destruction, this was all about Bush's vendetta against Saddam for trying to kill his family. Now we are stuck in a war that should have never been.

I do not know for sure, but I can venture a guess that it is the same reason he didn't buy me lunch yesterday, do my grandmothers shopping, or declare war on Iraq. It's not his job. It's Congresses job to declare war, my dad's to shop for my grandmothers, and myself to by my lunch.
I'm all about bashing Bush because he's a joke but why are there so many morons showing how stupid they are by blaming Bush for crap he isn't responsible for. Grow up, or at least shut up before you drive more votes to the Republicans.
I'm a Democrat, and I approve of this message.

Because he's a putz. A great many of the terrorists come from Iran and Syria. Seems no one (Rummy) was smart enough to figure that out.

we didn't have and still don't have enough troops in iraq to do the job properly.
liberals object to sending more troops to iraq but yet they want everything done magically. and if they can't solve a problem they go about yelling "bring the troops home" as if that would solve anything.

Good question, You know if more Americans would think like you, and stop the whining about being in Iraq. We need to come up with ideas to help our troops. Another thing I think that needs to be done is We need to start doing recon and raid patrols and seek out these suicide bombers.
