I'm having an end of the year party and its huge, roughly about 245 people. I'm turning thirteen and a lot of people in my school started grinding. I honestly think that it is really disgusting, and without sounding like a parent or making this huge announcement, how do I make sure no one starts grinding? I don't want to make an announcement because my dad will probably switch schools if he found out people in my school grind! And if he saw it, hed probably drown kitties. Haha, hed kick people out. I just want to know if there is a way people don't start grinding? There will be a 85% chance this will happen at the party.
Please answer I'll give 10 points to the best answer!

Thank you so much!

First of all a party of 245 for a thirteen year old is WAY too many people! You will end up with more problems than just grinding!

You need to limit the number to close friends. Your parents are responsible for your guests. I'm sure they do not want parents calling them the next day complaining about what went on. You will need lots of chaperones for that party!

If you invite close friends, you should have no problem telling then that you don't want any grinding going on. If you are not close enough to them to tell them, why are you inviting them to your party?

When our kids had parties at our house, our rules stood. The kids understood, and we never had a problem. Actually the kids appreciated us holding the line on the parties because it kept out the party crashers who were up to no good anyway. this is one time you need your parents to be enforcers. Otherwise things can very easily get out of hand. They can be the 'bad guys' while sparing you the pressure from your peers.

No matter where you have the party, your parents are still the adults responsible for each guest. Since you and they are the hosts, you can't get around the responsibility by having it somewhere other than your house. It's still too many young teens to be chaperoned.

Grinding is about a cheap feel. If you want to put your body out for the public use of 245 pimple faced adolescents, then good luck. Next time somebody tries to grind into you, tell him nicely to stop. If he doesn't stop instantly, then nomatter where you are, or what is going on, Scream as loudly as you can for about 5 minutes. Then break down crying saying: "He tried to touch me." Help!.

You'll be the alpha female in no time.

Tell your Dad that not only 13 year olds do it but adults with bad taste do it as well. I went to a wedding reception last night and all the people my age(22) were doing it to. Just let your dad know about it. If he knows you then he knows youre not like that. Its really tacky to dance this way....unless youre drunk but thats a story for when youre older! Lol!

ps Give your closest friends the heads up before the party, so that he doesnt think you'll be influenced by them.

Grinding what? Grinding their teeth? Grinding gravel with their cars? Grinding each other in bed? Grinding as in dirty dancing?

I assume you mean the dirty dancing. I agree with the advice below about watching what music you play and trying to make it a more upscale party.

You might include in the invitation, in a slightly kidding manner that dirty dancing is not allowed. Either that or they sell these boat horns in a canister that you could come up behind them and blast them off with.

the more formal you make it, the less likely they'll do it. People tend to act more civilized when they get all dolled up.
