Typically males are neutered between the age of 4 to 6 months. But it can be preformed as late in life as 7 to 11 years, depending on the breed and physical health of the dog (smaller breeds live longer).

1 year of age is not too late for a neuter. It is still early enough to prevent prostate and testicular cancer.

Thank you for being a responsible owner and for taking care of your companion!

sure, of course it truly is okay to neuter your dogs. it won't mess him up. If he's not a properly bred, champion dogs, then there is not any reason he ought to be left intact. At this age, it is going to purely sidestep him from fathering domestic dogs. Neutering does decrease or sidestep possibility of particular cancers, yet on condition that executed around 6 months of age.

He's fine to neuter now.

I think one of the benefits of neutering young (1 yr is plenty young) is it is a simpler procedure for the dr. and dog, and its
cheaper as I think after a certian age, the charge increases with the weight of the dog.

Gratz on your pup!

It is not to late to neuter your dog. It is the responsible thing to do. I work in rescue and foster dogs and I have seen a lot first hand.

No definately not too late, the only worry as far as age goes with neuteraing dogs is if they're over 8 years old, the risk on anaesthetic is higher.

Never too late, and congratulations on making the right decision for your dog's comfort and health and the comfort of all the females in the neighbourhood.

If you plan on him breeding, then wait. But if you're not, then neutering him is the best plan. When he gets to a certain age, he'll start humping things and it won't be pretty
