Why the hell would you buy a dog if your mom doesnt want one at your home?? It doesnt sound like you thought this out at all. A dog is not a toy that you just buy on a whim. It is a living animal that takes a lot of care, attention, time, and responsibility.

It's NOT a good time for you to get a dog. UNETHICAL breeders will tell you anything to get rid of a pup and get your cash...
NOT to mention the fact that you know that your mother is allergic to dogs. If you're living with her, this was more than inconsiderate of you to do.
The breed isn't hypo-allergenic... True that this breed sheds little to no hair, but that doesn't make the dog hypo-allergenic. Yorkies have to be groomed frequently...this means at least once a week. Who's going to do this? Your allergic mother?
Potty training a puppy is A LOT of work... Consistancy many times a day taking a puppy out to potty is what it takes.
Not only that, a puppy's bladder muscles that control his ability to "hold it" overnight don't fully develop until 16 weeks of age.
Being responsible for a puppy is like being responsible for a human infant in many ways. There's much more to it than a "cute puppy"... Every baby anything is "cute".
Nevertheless, if you have just paid the breeder, you need to contact her/him right away and tell them that you cannot purchase the puppy b/c your mother is very allergic and she is not allowing you to bring it home.
Do NOT allow them to give you a hard time because you have a LEGAL right to cancel ANY contract (written, oral) within 24 hours. That is the law in all states. Unless you signed something or agreed to forfiet money if you changed your mind, you are legally entitled to a full refund.
I would highly suggest that you learn about an endeavor prior to jumping into the fire, so to speak. Yorkies as well as many other dogs have been around forever and will still be around one day when you're living in your own home and are ready to take on such a responsibility.

1) Yorkies are not hypo-allergenic. Where did you get that idea? Better than a Malamute or an Old English Sheepdog, you betcha. Hypo, no.
2) First few weeks? Hahahahahaha. Puppies are a lot of work. Be prepared for months of training and attention. Yorkies are also not known for speedy house training. You may have better luck, but please be aware that you could be doing this for while.
You really put yourself in a pickle by trying to bring a dog into a home where she may not be welcomed. I'd bite the bullet now and figure out if she can stay there. If she can not, please do the right thing and let her go to another home now while she is still tiny, cute, and easily trainable. If you have to give her up when she is several months old her chances of a good future start to decrease a little more all the time.
I don't want to sound too negative because I do hope things work out for you, but do please make sure you're considering the best interests of this little pup as well as your own wants. If this turns out to not be the right time, do what you have to do for now and get a puppy another time down the road.

You should have asked your Mom first but I guess the answer would have been "no". Yorkies are kinda hard to house train. Maybe if you buy a crate for training purposes and then brought the puppy home and explained to your Mom about the hypoallergenic thing with Yorkies she might get used to the idea. Especially once she sees the puppy. They are irresistible! I wish you luck!
ps - also get a book on "potty" training small dogs before you bring the puppy home so that your Mom knows that you are serious about doing the right thing for the pup! again I wish you the best!

This was very inconsiderate of you...I just read today on the akc site that there is no proof that any breed is indeed hypo allergenic...You shouldn't have done this to your mother...I would suggest leaving the dog in your boyfriends care and just visiting it as much as possible...there is such a thing as responsible purchasing of a pet that is suitable to each families needs and wants...YOU'RE MOTHER IS ALLERGIC TO DOGS!!!

first off if your mom is very allergic to dogs as some people are this is being very unfair to her.
i suggest you tell your mom what you have done and arrange for her to take an antihistamine and go see the dog and tell you if you can have it in the house.
your mom may not be mean at all and may really like dogs but some people are just so allergic that just a moment in a house with a dog sets them off .
my old neighbor was like that didn't matter how clean i kept my place she could not stay long enough for a cup of tea.

You made a BIG mistake. It is your mother's home and your are the child. And if she is allergic, she is allergic. The type of dog does not lessen the allergy but the allergic response.
Young dogs spend months learning to be potty trained, Who is going to do that 24/7? Your mother? You will be in school. Oh, and don't forget the shots and food.
Think and return the dog!!!! If you want a dog wait until you have a place of your own and you can take total care of the dog.

I was just watching a yard makeover show last night and they used this mulch. What a coincidence! I think it is very, very irresponsible of Hershey's to market this product without a warning label. I would be devastated if that happened to my dogs (even though they drive me nuts.) Yes, they could argue that dog owners can put 2 + 2 together (dogs can't have chocolate) but they have a responsibility to warn pet owners!

Bad move! Get your money back ASAP.
Never bring a dog around someone who is allergic to them, you might stand a chance of causing them damage even if the dog is hypo-allergenic

My mom hated dogs. I really mean hated! She dispised them with a passion!!! But, we got a dog and now my mom LOVES her, and doesn't mind any other dog that much, either. If it doesn't maker her sneeze, than she will learn to love it!
Now the poo and peeing thing...my dog never did that in my house. As soon as you get it, every hour take her out and say "Pee" or some kind of key word. She will learn where the door is and eventually cry or scratch at it when she needs to go out.
But, incase she does pee inside, RUB HER NOSE IN IT! They hate the smell, and she prolly won't do it again.
To reward her, give her an Apple Cinnamon Cheerio, as dogs LOVE these, and they won't hurt her. Just don't give her too many.
