wow lovely question, i love how you posted this in etiquette.

its not that they sweat ONLY when they're doing their shopping, for obese people walking around for a while would be like us "normal" people walking up stairs for a while.

Imagine having a backpack full of bricks on your back and then go walking around.

have i made my point?

You're probably seeing someone who doesn't get much exercise. Grocery shopping can take an hour of walking around and heavy lifting, and if you're buying a larger amount of food and have less fitness to do it, you're *bound* to sweat.

Have you checked the prices in the grocery store lately? I am not overweight but I sweat when I do my shopping.

Honestly, I've never noticed. I'm too busy minding my own business which is grocery shopping and keeping my 3 year old son entertained in the cart.

Wouldn't you sweat if you had to walk around every day with extra weight, and feeling like everyone is staring at you?

Fat acts as insulation, which causes increased warmth, and it is heavy, which makes walking more strenuous.
