No vaccine in the world works 100%. It is very unlikely but yes it could.

The "vet tech" is incorrect...
The correct answer is "Yes".
IF your dog/puppy did not receive all rounds (minimum 4) of parvo virus immunizations, the chances are REALLY good that he/she can contract the virus.
If your dog/puppy did receive all the necessary rounds, he/she can still get it but it's much more unlikely.
The most suseptible ages are 0-2years but they can certainly get it thereafter.
We vaccinate at 2 weeks w/parvo only *killed virus, again at 4 wks w/parvo only. Then begin using 7 way at 6wks, 12 weeks,16 weeks and thereafter we give an annual booster.
Some don't vaccinate this early but in our part of the country, parvo-virus is as easy to catch as the common cold. This most likely due in part to it being carried around by so many stray, unvaccinated animals.
Vaccinating so early seemed to be the only way to lower the risk because the mothers passive immunity didn't seem to be doing the job.
This is the only way we were able to erradicate it from our area.
BTW...Parvovirus can remain on the premise for 7 years.. If you have it or have ever had it, you must use something to literally disinfect everything that can be disinfected.
There are some products that will work in the soil as well.
Burning the ground and used bedding is another measure to assist in removing the virus.

I would not say that it could. But, I believe it is possible to contract the disease at a more minor level. We went through it with my dog who was vaccinated and made it through it. The vet did tell us to kill the parvo by spraying our yard in bleach. Worked!

Puppies have to have a series of 3 shots to make sure they're safe. If the dog is over 3 years old, he may get sick but he'll probably be okay. Have your vet check him out anyway.

Yes...although it is uncommon (yet not impossible)
Its just like a human getting the chicken pox even though they already got the vaccination.

my german shepard puppy did! She had 2 sets of shots and died so fast we had no time to react!!! My vet said that sometimes a dogs system will not take the shot. In other words their immune system is all screwed up. I am sure this is something that is rare, but it happened to me!
