Push means the bet neither wins nor loses, nothing happens to it.

You have the choice of leaving the bet in place or taking it back before the next roll.

The only push in craps is when don't pass (or don't come) is bet and the barred number is rolled (usually 12).

In Craps, There are two ways to categorize the bets.
1) The first is a "one roll" bet, such as a "Yo Eleven" where you are betting the NEXT roll will be a specific number, in this case an 11. That bet will win or lose when the dice land on the table. The Field is another example, since every roll will generate a winner or loser.
2) The second type of bet requires a decision, or something specific to happen: A good example will be the "Hard 8". To win, you need to have a 4-4 rolled. Any other combination generating a number 8 will lose. A 7 will also lose. But, should the dice land on 6-3 you neither win or lose. You may want to call this a "push", but in reality it is not a push, but an undecided bet. Another example would be the pass line or place bets.
In the good-old-days, the felt layouts were printed in different colors to show the difference between these bets. Anything silk screened in Red ink required a decision, and anything in Yellow ink was a one-roll bet. Too bad that doesn't apply anymore.
As for the actual "Push", there is only one push on the Craps table. If you are familiar with the line "Don't Pass/Come Bar 6-6 (Pictures of dice)" you will see the only push. The pass line/come bets will lose on a come out roll of 12, but to raise the house advantage, the Don't Pass/Come will not win. It is given a push. Not the kind you see in blackjack where you tie, but the kind where you should get paid but don't. Thus, it is rarely called a push (since it is bad for the player's bankroll), and it is safe to say there are no pushes in craps.

Sure hope this helps...
