Yes it is, it contains vinegar, very acidic, so its relatively safe.

It is fine, trust me. The only thing that would be affected in ketchup is that the colour might change but that would take a long time (months) opened and out of the fridge. Mustard and Ketchup are very stable foods, full of preservatives and stabilisers.

I never use mustard, but I just keep my ketchup in the cupboard. The vinegar in it acts as a preservative, so it won't go bad, unless you're keeping the same bottle for several months. I have never had ketchup stored this way go bad, and I've been using it for forty years. I do put salad dressings in the fridge, though.

Yeah it's safe, at least here in Guatemala most people leave ketchup and mustard out of the fridge.

I always put my ketchup and mustard in the refrigerator. When I was a kid, my Mom NEVER put either in the refrigerator. Both went in the kitchen cupboard right alongside the salt & pepper. So, I know it won't make you sick....because I never got sick from it as a kid. Restaurants leave it out and the health inspectors would allow it if it was bad for us.

Yes it is safe.
As someone else has said it contains vinegar and vinegar has been used as a preservative for many many years...before refrigerators or electricity were invented.

Think of all the things that are pickled in vinegar.

I never put ketchup in the fridge - there's never enough room!

The nutrition risk-free practices human beings will kill me for saying this yet even nonetheless 2 hours is the utmost pronounced time for nutrition to be ignored of the refrigerator, it is not constantly pratical and that i doubt it truly ever happens. (no longer likely the pie I had from starbucks for lunch have been out of the oven much less then 2hours, they do no longer actually have a kitchen....) i think of over-night is nice, if; it became into completely cooled down on the kitchen counter (no longer left in a heat oven or next to a warm range), you cooked the casserole with the aid of (<350F for <20-35mins, consistent with length), you further milk or cheese to it, it hasn't long gone bitter, used sparkling utensils whilst serving (you probably did no longer consume without put off out of the serving dish?), reheat with the aid of to <350F for <20-35mins previously booking) of course, rule of thumb... whilst uncertain, throw it out.

:\ What makes you think that something full of vinegar and sugar isn't safe to leave out for a few hours?

Have you noticed that at some restaurants they leave ketchup bottles on the dining tables permanently?

Refrigeration is optional, otherwise it would say on the label, refrigerate after opening.

Some people like them warm and some like them cold. WIth kids around the house this happens all the time. I like it cold and put it back in the fridge. I have never experienced any ill effects from it. On the other hand, if your hubby doesn't like it, then tell him to put them in the frig when he's done.

It's ok. Opened ketchup does not need to be refrigerated, regardless of what the label says.

They should be fine. Generally they wont spoil if kept closed and used before the expiration date, even if left out after being refrigerated.
