This question has bean rattling inside me noggin for a few weeks.

I call THE TRINITY by these names :

GOD THE FATHER >>> JEHOVAH

GOD THE SON >>> JESUS CHRIST

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT >>> YAHWEH

YAHWEH is another name for GOD, and since THE HOLY SPIRIT does not have a specific name, I used this one.

Am I wrong ? Is there a formal name for THE HOLY SPIRIT ?

JESUS IS GOD

God the Holy Spirit.Genesis 1 calls the triune God, 'Eloihem' as opposed to God as one ..'El'.
Jesus is indeed God but so is the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Together they are from 'El Shaddai' to 'Jehovah Shalom' ,'Jehovah Jireh 'and all points in between.

If you would have read THE BIBLE before asking this question you could have saved some face. Did JESUS not say to HIS apostles. Go ye therefore into all the world baptizing in THE NAME OF THE FATHER SON AND HOLY-GHOST. All you needed to do was read that in the gospel then read the book of Acts. The apostles in fulfilling HIS command baptized only IN THE NAME OF JESUS. There went the false doctrine of the trinity. This phony and apostate church world believes in three persons of the Godhead. Which is blaspheme of the HOLY-GHOST as you can't lie about THE HOLY-GHOST and get away with that. You are more lost then those that duped you. Well said of the BIBLE you by your teachers have turned out two fold the child of hell than they were. Dress light therefore!!! david stotler

Roman Catholicism does not attach specific names to either God the Father or God the Spirit.
We all agree as Christians that God the Son is Jesus Christ, our Lord.

The Nicene Creed, however contains:
God, the Father, the Almighty, the creator...
...Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord ... begotten, not made, one in being with the Father ...
...The Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life.

Sensible question! The sensible answer is that the holy spirit has no name because it is not a person.

It is God's power that was to be poured out to Jesus' disciples as he promised. Jesus' promise was fulfilled at Pentecost. The holy spirit--like a strong wind that filled the house--was poured out to them ( about 120) in the form of tongues of fires. If it was a person that was poured out then your won't have a trinity. You would have multiple almighty gods, right?

However, a figure of speech called personification is used to describe the holy spirit. This is why you will find many scriptures that:(a) says that the holy spirit is the helper, (b) that it spoke to someone.

Study carefully the biblical passages below.

The Holy Spirit does officially have a Name. His name is The Holy Ghost. In Acts 1:8 You shall recieve power when the Holy Ghost is come upon you. These are the words of Jesus Christ himself

I have only heard of the Holy Spirit being called the Holy Spirit. He is really the silent partner in the Trinity. His sole function is to convince the world of sin and to draw us to Jesus. He is not the focus of our attention. He is to point us to Jesus.

LORD.
All over the bible it calls Jesus Lord, God, Lord, and since Jesus and God are the same then when we are talking about the Holy Spirit (or Holy ghost) we are talking about the spirit of God touching us, telling us...ect. We could call it Lord...The Lord...
Spirit of the Lord...

Yahweh is a derivation of Jesus. Thus far, other than the Comforter and the Holy Ghost, no other name has been revealed for the third member of the Godhead.
