chances are the bird won't hatch, even if you do incubate it. it's probably been cold for too long. it would need to be kept next to some kind of heat source like a light bulb or heater as soon as the mother left it. if the egg had been sitting in the nest any more than 3 or 4 hours without heat, it will never hatch.

I have raised quite a few birds in my time and also own an incubator and have hatched a few different kinds of birds out of it and if eggs that have been constantly warm for a long time and have there heat cut short and go completely cold are generally dead eggs sorry not much you can do but for future reference bye a small 2 egg incubator if the need ever arises again.

I am sorry but that isn't a wise thing to do.

You can incubate the egg with a warm lamp. Once it is born you could even feed it with worms and other insects, but how do you teach it to fly or to hunt on its own?

You can try to care for it for the rest of its life, but that is a lot of responsibility because birds have a fast metabolism and need to be fed often.

If it was abandoned in the nest for a few days then the chances are pretty good that it has already died.

both male and female bird sits on their eggs, female bird sits in the afternoon til morning while male bird sits on it on day time.the 2 eggs that were open is already hatch and the other egg could not be save anymore.for pigeon egg,it takes 18 days to hatch and for chicken egg,is takes 21 days to hatch.
hole the egg toward the light,if the egg seems clear inside after a week of incubating, then that egg is no good.(not fertile)

It does need to be kept watm at all times. Lean a shadeless lamp over the box or whatever its in. Give it time to see if it hatches. If it happens to you need to have food for it. Call ur local petstore to see what kind of wild bird food replacers they have for chicks. Hope this helps and im sorry if it does not make it...Just keep it warm

when i was six, i had an egg. i put it under a lightbulb in a box, with a towel under it. If you have a bendable light, shine it on it about 16-21 hours a day. Then, for the other hours, let it cool. Continue this for about 2-2 1/2 weeks. Never let it overheat!
