I know my mom would be more understanding than my dad but the thing is if I tell her I'll never here the end of it.

That would mean that you are STRAIGHT, that is what most people assume, i dont think you need to tell your mother anything.

Why tell her? It isn't any of their business as far as I can see. I didn't tell my parents when I first started liking guys. And when I had my first boyfriend, I didn't sit them down and tell them. They just figured it out for themselves, or just asked me if I had a boyfriend, what's his name, is he in your grade too. And that was it. Unless your parents are the kind that don't want you to have a girlfriend, or you're the kind of kid that tells them everything from a girl saying 'hi' to you on the school bus to realizing you like girls to telling them that you got a check plus on a meaningless homework assignment, then it shouldnt matter or make a difference. It's not that big a deal.

How old are you? If you are over 13, I am sure your mom already knows that you like girls. If you want to talk to her about a specific girl, then just go for it. She may be more understanding than you think.

Presuming eitehr your avatr is off or that you simply meant to write boys. and that you are homosexual because of the question it sounds that way. You just need to tell her the longer you leave it the worse harder telling her it will become. Once you come out of closet you'll feel much better.
Or presuming your straight. Just hint while watching the TV or showing her school photos say 'That girl is so hot!' or "She awesome I like her heaps" or "Do you thin I should ask [insert girls name here] out?"

It isn't necessary to volunteer such information. Just ask them questions about girls. It is normal. You need to learn and it is your mother's job to teach you.
