This is actually more civil law than Church law.
Civil law restricts the places where non-service animals can go for health reasons especially places where many people are present or food is consumed.
A Catholic Church fits both of these criteria. Trained service animals are not restricted from entering churches.
Feel free to pray with your dog at home or in natural surroundings. Everyone (including the dog) will enjoy the experience better.
With love in Christ

Because those with dyslexia might mistake your dog for God and with him on a leash that would be an insult and make it seem like man is controlling God and that is just too close to the truth.
Seriously, only guide dogs are allowed in most public areas. If you bring your dog into church then the Church would fear that he could pee on the carpet, trip someone, start barking, or otherwise disrupting the service. IF your dog is a guide dog and you need him then by denying your dog admittance to church they are violating the Citizens with Disabilities Act. However, being a Church they are not subject to that law.

If you want to bring in your dog I don't think it is YOUR Catholic Church. Some Church's do have certain days where they Bless the animals in the Parish . You know, pets and livestock and stuff. Maybe wait until then.

Dogs do not need to pray because all dogs go to heaven. They already get a free pass, so why bore them with church?

If you are blind and your dog is a seeing eye dog - no problem.
It would not be a good idea to bring a dog to church. There may be people there who are fearful of dogs or allergic to dogs. Dogs may disturb the service. Dogs would be a distraction.
Pray with your dogs outside of Church. I'm certain God would appreciated both of your prayers.

Some churches have special days when you can bring your pet to church with you. It is a pet blessing day...our Anglican church has one every year. But it is only one day a year. It would be to disruptive otherwise.

Because he constantly fouls up the Latin pronunciation of "peccatoribus" and can't remember the words to the Te Deum to save his little doggy life.
