Hey, is there such thing as just a water diet? Has anyone ever tried it and had sucess? A friend of mine said she ate nothing but saltine crackers and drank water and lost tons of weight. But once you eat more again, you gain it back really fast, dont you?

There is no such diet as water diet. What you friend did was fast. yes you do loose weight. But what happens with type of starvation dieting. You train your body and your body will go into a starvation mode. Which means it holds onto every calorie you consume. Then when you start to eat regular again it hold on to the food you eat. Its the body's way of protecting itself from starvation. The best diet to go on is a diabetic diet depending on how much you want to loose usually a 1200 ada or 1800 ada is the best choices. The American diabetic association has a web site check into it.

yes, you not only gain it back, but also gain more weight because all you lost was water weight and muscle and your fat became more stubborn and body learned to do the same activity with less calories burned.
