I know alot of people will vote chuck, but Chuck has publicly admitted that he would have been no match for bruce. As for Jet lee... I think bruce could take him... he was a very powerful little guy.

in a real fight chuck norris would easily school both of them. chuck norris was an undefeated world karate champion 7 years running. jet li is only a wushu expert who has never been in a real fight. jet li has never claimed to be a fighter either. he is a very talented actor, and performer. his wushu is a thing of beauty, but it is more of a dance then a practical fighting style.
bruce lee was at one time chucks teacher, but chuck has a large strength and size advantage. also chuck is a black belt in bjj under carlos machado, so he is more rounded as a fighter. i dont believe bruce lee was ever that great as a fighter, but his ideas changed the way martial arts are today. he was basically one of the fathers of mma since he taught people that styles were a waste of time, and that you should learn any and all technics. not just karate or kung fu by themselves.
if you want to say who is the best movie martial artist i would have to say jackie chan by far. tony jaa is pretty awsome also.

It's obvious isn't it? It has to be the master Bruce Lee. Without him there would be no Jet Li or Chuck Norris. No Van Damme, no Jackie Chan, no-one. Bruce Lee was probably the greatest in his field as he brought Martial Arts movies to the fore in America and then the world. Lee's films, especially his performance in the Hollywood-produced Enter the Dragon, elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim. He is held in high regard amongst all martial arts film makers as he changed the direction and the feel of these kinds of films world-wide. He also was the innovator of mixing various styls of martial arts as all styles have their weakneses and he created his own martial arts style based on the workings of Jeet Kune Do.At first Bruce Lee taught what he called the "Tao of Chinese Gung Fu" with Wing Chun at its core. Not to show disrespect to the art of Wing Chun and to accurately name what he was teaching Lee changed the name of his martial art Jun Fan Gung Fu (literally Bruce's Gung Fu), which consisted mostly of Wing Chun, with elements of Western boxing and fencing. He is also the man who first started teaching non-asian people the ancient arts and created alot of problems for himself within the martial arts community. The infamous tale of a master challenging him to a fight had a result that to this day is unknown but Bruce Lee was quoted saying that he had defeated an unnamed challenger. The funny part to this tale is that he supposedly took a couple of minutes to defeat the teacher and this upset him as he wondered why the fight took him so long as his other fight lasted 10-15 seconds. Therfore he had to re-evaluate his style! This was where the early concepts of Jeet Kune Do originated. The man has so much history and has done more for the art of fighting than any other human living or dead. Unfortunately on July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee died of an apparent cerebral edema (swelling of the brain) because of an allergic reaction to some headache pills. "Enter the Dragon" premieres a month later to much success. The fact that non martial art movie fans even know the name of the great man (1st answer to the question illustrates my point) and some of the films is just a small amount of credit the film industry and the merial arts community owes to Bruce Lee. Quite a long winded answer but you did ask for reasons and this is only a drop in the ocean when we are talking about the master.

Chuck Norris isn't hung like a horse, horses are hung like Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris doesn't turn out the light, he turns the dark off.
Chuck Norris went to the Virgin Islands, they are now called "the Islands"
Chuck Norris sleeps with a night light, not because he's afraid of the dark, because the dark is afraid of Chuck Norris.
I'll go with Sonny Chiba

Without question Bruce Lee was the most talented martial artist of all time. When he was filming his fighting scenes, the cameras of that time could not keep up with his speed.
Te reason he was so good, he was gifted and use that gift to his full potential.

Awesome question.
It depends on what style you prefer as all three do/did something very different from each other and are very good at it.
But I would have to go with Bruce Lee being my favourite as he Invented Jeet kwon do, sort of perfecting the mistakes of shaolin. Simplifying the systems and closing the loop holes.
