The Tale of Peter Rabbit is really good. I also think there is a book called just "I Love You" or something, and it is good. I loved to be read to when I was little, and it pays off now, what you are doing is great. And even if you read books that are over her head, it helps, she isn't going to remember or understand much of anything yet, but it definitely helps. I like the Arthur books, they are all good. The Berenstein Bears, I LOVED to read books about ballerinas, that was my favorite, and what I wanted to be when I grew up, I KNOW there are tons of those out there, because I own probably all of them. Barnes and Noble has a good selection, as does Borders...good luck.

My parents were older and from the time I can remember, before my grandmother passed away, my bedtime book was the Bible. I always thought it was the most magnificent story I had every heard, and the thing about it was when I went to school and tried to tell the other kids about it, they didn't know what I was talking about. I still read the Bible, but it wasn't until your question did I remember being on my grandmother's lap listening to her tell me about Jacob wrestling with the Angel and the snake in the garden with Eve and Adam and the apple. Wow, you just took me back, thanks for the memories. God Bless.

My daughter is 19 months old and we're on the 3rd Harry Potter book! I will sit and read for about 30 mins every night, and it's gotten my daughter to actually get into her toddler bed on her own. I read with enthusiasm, and try to do voices too, so she gets into it, because I get into it...LOL. I tried reading stories according to her age, and she never liked to sit and listen to them. So I upped it a bit, and now she really enjoys it :) GOOD LUCK!
