Silly question from me....Do you have the right saddle? There are saddles for male and female bottoms.....could this be the problem?

First thing to try, because it costs virtually nothing, is to adjust the bike seat. Try tilting it forward a little, or back a little. If the agony you're feeling is centred around your tailbone, then chances are you need a more padded seat, or proper cycling shorts.

Look for cycling shorts with a chamois gusset or specialized for mountain biking (such as those made by Roach Clothing). Mountain biking shorts typically have two-part construction: a spandex inner layer, and a loose-fitting outer layer.

Bike seats come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Male and female bodies are built differently down there, so look for a seat that is made for you. And the first one you pick might not be the best one for you, so make sure that the store has a good exchange policy and that you can try the seat and exchange it for a different one.

A few simple steps to help your rear:

1) Make sure the seat is angled properly. This costs nothing and might help relieve some pressure. Make the weight is on the right spot- not to far forward.

2) Get a bike fit. This is a variation on #1, but make sure that your bike is set up for you correctly. Too many times riders adjust the bike to sit upright without realizing that by doing so you take weight off of your hands and feet and put it on the rear.

3) Try shorts with good pad and do not wear any underwear.

4) Try a different saddle that fits you better.

It could be that you're just not sitting on the seat properly....sit a little further back onto it, you may find this solves the problem, if not.....
You may need to change your seat....if you are female & the bike is for a male, then a change of seat could solve the problem....there are some really comfy seats out there for reasonable prices.......what price does comfort come at anyway? you could get some padded cycling shorts, they also help a lot......

I agree with the guys that have said proper angling of the saddle and proper fitting of the bike/riding position.

But I would have to say that the aching is customary for (almost) everybody that just starts riding. I would just continue taking the brunt for another short while and see if it prevails before investing in gear that you may not need or regret buying.

the known project with maximum riders affected by knee subject matters is seat proper. The seat should be adjusted so as that your leg is only a touch bent at the same time as the pedal is contained in the 6 o'clock position. Secondly, i imagine that you want some coaching with cycling technique. if you're outfitted acceptable, you received't be in a position to the contact the floor once you're seated on the saddle. you ought to get off the saddle and placed both ft on the floor once you come to a quit. that's truly real once you've toddler on-board. you want 2 ft firmly planted on the floor once you're stopped! next, is that you're in all likelihood driving in too massive (complicated) of a equipment. you're in all likelihood mashing the gears in an truly complicated / severe fixed equipment. it really is a tricky and painful thanks to experience, so do this... it really is a tricky idea to describe, yet i will provide it a attempt. once you start up driving velocity and convenience pedaling is done by technique of spinning the pedals and peddle stress. once you start up your driving, you want to locate a pedal stress that feels tender. no longer really common, and in no way requiring an important downward push (form of the mama undergo push) then you definitely want to coach those pedals (spinning) at a consistent fee.... lets say sixty 5 or 70 rpm to start up. The trick is to apply the gears to keep an identical tender pedal stress AND pedal velocity (spin @ sixty 5 to 70 rpm minimum) in any respect circumstances AND on all terrains. once you get the speed and stress brilliant you modify the gears up and right down to keep an identical feeling going. this elements both velocity and convenience on all terrains.... residences or hills. the added belongings you'll see are the traditional pains linked with a sparkling workout consultation. those pains will flow away with driving. yet calf, leg, thigh, and butt muscle mass receives a workout consultation that they have got not considered in many years .... the perfect project to do is get some padded cycling shorts.... placed on them less than your general outfits (in the adventure that they embarrass you). in basic terms placed on them until eventually a minimum of your 'cheeks' get into structure. they provide a lot of a distinction that street bikers placed on all of them the time!
