Well you have to be responsible enough to be able to clean them every day, to put them into your eyes & take them out.
To dispose of them when you are done with them & to make sure that you are aware of the possible downsides as well vs. just not wearing glasses.
Its possible that she doesn't think you are ready to make such a big leap. If that is the case, look over your current reactions to things she asks you to do. If you want something that would take responsibility--then make sure you mother knows that you can take responsibilty at this stage in your life.
In about a month, tell her what you are doing, that you are showing her you can be responsible by doing all your chores on time, or without being asked, emptying out the dishwasher or filling up the dishwasher.
Or learning how to clean your own clothes in the washer & by using the dryer. Don't worry about asking for her help at this stage, just start helping out a bit more here & there.
Offer to wash the car on Sat if your father or mother look tired or offer to babysit the smaller kid if you are the older & they want to go grab a coffee with their friends.
Show you can handle it and then it won't be such a big issue to your mom.

The issue isn't so much your age as whether your eyes have finished developing. Eyes, like other soft tissues, continually adjust and change during development. Getting contacts now is fine, but you may have to get new ones with a slightly different fit in a few years.

There isn't any specific age that you can or can't start wearing contacts. Most people start around the ages 12 or 13 years old.

nope.
My sister got her's when she was 12.
There is NO age limit
But be careful cuz there are lots of infections that can get in your eyes if you aren't really careful that you clean your hands everytime you touch your contacts.
I know someone who's eyes are ruined because of his contacts. He has really bad infections and he's practically blind. He can't even see the shampoo in his shower because of his contacts.

Not for contacts. Some doctors do not want to prescribe them to very young children, simply because they may not be ready to properly insert and remove them.
