Right now I'm going to fill my GUT with "bushman 'shrooms" from Outback, and a nice salad...

Why would I choose delusion over knowledge? Why would I live my life based on outdated precepts from 2000 years ago when we know so much more now about the world, human beings, and ethics? If I wanted to be irrational, why would I pick the Jesus character to have in my heart instead of Buddha or Zoroaster, or another god character like Vishnu or Zeus?

Oh NO!
Church Lady, I've been filling my mind with the knowledge of Jesus! He already overflows my heart!
What should I do?

You have to have knowledge in order to know God or his Son. Check out John 17:3 and Proverbs 2:4 says we should seek it as we would for hidden treasures. If one has the knowledge of God, how could they not have the love for God and all his wondrous works?

Well it takes knowledge to understand what Jesus did for us. But if you are talking about unfruitful knowledge I think it is because of the time we are living in. The Bible says men will perish for a lack of knowledge. They refuse to except Christ as Lord and Savior because they think only of themselves.
Jesus is Lord

Blind faith: Faith that has no knowledge or reason.
Faith: Reasoned faith that has some basis in knowledge.
Blind faith are the ones who will worship the antichrist because they will believe in whatever their told.
Faith w/reason takes inteligence and knowledge to know that some bibles are not in fact 'word of god' ..such as the NIV which is contradictory to earlier versions..

Jesus himself sought knowledge and it says in the Bible that we are to seek wisdom. Does it not? Surely you must have other questions to ask? Questions that don't make Christianity seem like the doctrine of ignorant fanatics?

The two are not mutually exclusive, oh dancing demiurge, though you would presume to declare all that is not thrice-bleached white to be of the darkest ebon.
Get thee to thy nunnery, thou bobbing, weaving arachnid of the arcanoi, and leave us gentle Gnostics in peace!

Brains like to think. It's as simple as that.
And the only thing that should fill a heart is blood, unless I want myocardial infarction.
But maybe, just maybe........it's SATAN! ;-)
