I've had some difficulties in recent years. They are now coming back to the surface, triggered by relationship w/ my boyfriend. These memories are starting to hurt all my relationships and tear me apart, and I need to put them behind me. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to do this?

The difficulties I had didn't involve a boy. Many involved girls who I thought were my friends and another had to do with my mental health. My bf knows the details of both, but probably doesn't realize how much I'm bothered by them.

Yes. I strongly suggest counseling. You can work through these issues with a therapist who is trained to do so. The best way to put things behind you is to treat them and move on. Otherwise, all you're doing is running away from your problems. But they will catch up with you.

And don't tell me you don't have the time, money etc. There are few things more important in this world than a person's mental health.

You do need help. You need to talk to a professional, some one who can help you work through your past issues, and towards a brighter future.
How well do you and your boyfriend communicate? If you do communicate well, and after some councilling, let him know what happened and that it might come up once in a while, otherwise he might think the problem is between the two of you, and not you and the past.
If he can't/won't help you through this, then it wasn't meant to last.
But either way you need to take care of you, so you need to get this resolved.

Hi, Try to remember why you were attracted to the guy your dating. Why you like going out with him. Forget about the boy friend you used to half and cause you problems. Move on with your life and find someone who will treat you right and enjoy being with you. Think of your future not your passed.
